What is Depression?

The lifetime prevalence rates for depression are over 20%. How do I know if I have Depression?

Mainly, depression is accompanied with what is called a mood episode. A mood episode is a period of time, outside of your normal mood, that lasts for at least 2 weeks or more. During this time period, you will feel more sad and/or irritable than normal (more days than not). You may also experience changes in sleep, diet, isolation, decreased self-worth, and/or suicidal.
